I can tell when you write with AI (and so can your clients)
My last two emails were pretty popular with readers, so I want to share a little bit more about what I’ll be adding to MVE inside the classroom, and share some take-aways that you might be able to implement yourself today.
Basically, I think a lot of people have been using AI to “lower the bar” so to speak.
The idea is, use AI to pump out more and more content, and then maybe you can keep up with all those bigger brands who hire teams of people to pump out content, right?
I think at first, this approach feels productive. But after you’ve read enough AI writing, you develop a sense for detecting it. And at some point you just go, yeah this is crap, and stop reading. And I think that’s how a lot of folks “lowered the bar” over the past year. Essentially making it easy for anyone to stand out by simply being more human.
But there’s another way to use AI that I’ve discovered over the past few months.
Instead of using AI to just pump out more, more, more, instead you can work deeper, and create something more useful than you ever could before, within a matter of minutes, or say… maybe an hour.
Take for example, I’ve been doing these “lead magnet map” calls with folks inside the community.
We hop into a zoom room. I interview them. They brain dump whatever they’re working on. And we dump all that into AI alongside a markdown file I’ve created that contains instructions for what constitutes a great lead magnet, and then right there on the call we create one together.
And often times what we come up with are one-page, interactive educational artifacts that look professionally done, and feel as cool to use as they do to create.
Every time we open up what it creates for the first time, I’m always saying something like, “Oh wow! Cool, look you can do this and that…”, I’m always surprised by what we end up creating with it.
Then I send them off to tweak and refine it, and every time, the thing they come back with is even cooler than what I left them with on the call.
So I’m convinced. Pretty much anyone can do this once they’ve seen it done.
And ultimately, I’ll be adding how to build lead magnets this new way inside the course. Along with some other cool updates. But in the meantime, If you’re interested in one of those 1:1 calls where we map out your next lead magnet together, just reply back to this email and I’ll get you more details.
It’s not free, but it is affordable, and there’s no pressure to take me up on it if you respond to this email, I just want to see who’s interested and send you over the details so you can decide.
So if you want more details, just reply “MAP” and I’ll get you the details.
Your pal,
Kevin Hood
