Our websites are https://kevinhood.me and https://www.kevinhood.me (together, the “Service”). “Kevin Hood” and “Uplift the Tribe” both refer to: Uplift the Tribe LLC, 2785 E Grand Blvd, Unit #564, Detroit, MI 48211. - GDPR
General Data Protection Regulation Act. - Data Controller
Data Controller means the natural or legal person who (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal information are, or are to be, processed. - Data Processor
Data Processor means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Data Controller. - Data Subject
Data Subject is any living individual who is using our Service and is the subject of Personal Data.
1. Principles for processing personal data
Our principles for processing personal data are:
- Fairness and lawfulness. When we process personal data, the individual rights of the Data Subjects must be protected. All personal data must be collected and processed in a legal and fair manner.
- Restricted to a specific purpose. The personal data of Data Subject must be processed only for specific purposes.
- Transparency. The Data Subject must be informed of how his/her data is being collected, processed and used.
2. What personal data we collect and process
Information you give us. When you submit the newsletter form on the Service, we collect your first name and email address, along with your confirmation that you want to receive our emails.
Information collected automatically. Our website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and user-agent, the pages you request, and the date and time of the request, in order to serve the site and protect it against abuse.
Campaign information. If you arrive from a link that carries campaign tags (UTM parameters), we store them temporarily in your browser’s session storage and submit them with the form, so that we know which campaign introduced you. Session storage is cleared automatically when you close the tab.
Purchases and bookings. If you purchase from us, book a call with us, or contact us directly, we may collect additional personal data such as your last name, phone number, billing address, and payment information. That information is collected through those separate forms and conversations rather than through the newsletter form described above, and payment details are handled by Stripe as described in section 7.
3. How we use the personal data
Uplift the Tribe LLC uses the collected personal data for various purposes:
- To send you the email newsletter you asked for
- To provide you with services
- To notify you about changes to our services and/or products
- To provide customer support
- To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our services
- To measure and improve our advertising, as described in section 9
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues, including automated abuse of our forms
4. Legal basis for collecting and processing personal data
Uplift the Tribe LLC’s legal basis for collecting and using the personal data described in this Data Protection Policy depends on the personal data we collect and the specific context in which we collect the information:
- Uplift the Tribe LLC needs to perform a contract with you
- You have given Uplift the Tribe LLC permission to do so
- Processing your personal data is in the legitimate interest of Uplift the Tribe LLC
- Uplift the Tribe LLC needs to comply with the law
5. Retention of personal data
Uplift the Tribe LLC will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Data Protection Policy.
Uplift the Tribe LLC will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies.
6. Data protection rights
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. If you wish to be informed what personal data we hold about you, or you want it removed from our systems, contact us at kevin@kevinhood.me.
In certain circumstances, you have the following data protection rights:
- The right to access, update or to delete the information we have on you
- The right of rectification
- The right to object
- The right of restriction
- The right to data portability
- The right to withdraw consent
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
7. Service providers we share personal data with
We do not sell your personal data for money. We share it only with the service providers that operate our business on our behalf:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, and bot protection (Turnstile).
- HighLevel (GoHighLevel) — our email marketing and CRM platform. This is where your subscription is stored and from which our emails are sent.
- Emailable — verifies that a submitted email address is deliverable, to reduce bounces and abuse.
- Stripe — payment processing. Your payment card details are submitted directly to Stripe and are processed under its own privacy terms; we do not store your full card number.
- Fathom Analytics — privacy-focused website analytics. It counts page views and form submissions so we know which writing is being read. It uses no cookies, does not store your IP address or any other personal data, and does not track you across other websites.
- Meta (Facebook) — advertising and measurement, as described in section 9.
- Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising — website analytics, as described in section 10.
Each of these processes your data on our behalf and under its own privacy terms. Some US state privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” broadly enough to include the advertising and measurement described in section 9. If you are a resident of such a state and wish to opt out, contact us at kevin@kevinhood.me.
8. Cookies and browser storage
The Service stores a small amount of information in your own browser: your light or dark theme preference (local storage, kept until you clear it) and any campaign tags from your arrival link (session storage, cleared when you close the tab). Neither is used to identify you.
Cloudflare Turnstile may set a cookie as part of verifying that a form submission is not automated. Where the Meta Pixel is active, it sets advertising cookies as described in section 9. Fathom Analytics, our website analytics provider, sets no cookies and uses no browser storage at all. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; our forms and the site itself will continue to work.
9. Advertising and measurement
Meta Pixel. We use the Meta Pixel on parts of the Service. It is a piece of code that reports actions you take — such as viewing a page or submitting a form — to Meta Platforms, Inc., and sets cookies in your browser. We use it to measure how our advertising performs and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the Service.
Meta Conversions API. In addition to the browser pixel, conversion events are sent to Meta directly from our servers — both from this website when you submit a form, and from our email and CRM platform. Where this includes identifying information such as your email address or name, that information is hashed before it is sent, so Meta receives an irreversible representation rather than the value itself. We also send technical information with these events, including your IP address, browser user agent, and the Meta advertising identifiers described below. Meta uses this to match the event to an account and to attribute and measure our advertising.
Meta advertising identifiers. When you arrive from a Meta advertisement, the link carries a click identifier, and the Meta Pixel stores identifiers in your browser that distinguish your browser and that click. When you subscribe, these identifiers are stored alongside your contact record in our CRM. We use them so that a purchase made later — often days or weeks after you subscribe, by email or direct message rather than on this website — can still be attributed to the advertisement that introduced you. They are not used to identify you personally and are meaningful only to Meta.
For more information about how Meta collects and uses your data, and to manage your preferences, see the Meta Privacy Policy and your Meta ad settings.
10. Other specific data collection practices
- We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising:
We anonymously capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics and heatmaps to improve and market our products/services. Website usage data is captured anonymously without the use of cookies to determine the popularity of products/services and online activity. Additionally, we use this information for site optimization, fraud/security purposes, and advertising. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, visit the Microsoft Privacy Statement. - We use Cloudflare Turnstile:
Our sign-up forms are protected against automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile. When you load a page containing one of our forms, Turnstile processes your IP address, TLS fingerprint, User-Agent header, and the site key together with the website it is used on. Cloudflare states that it “does not have the ability to directly identify any individuals” from these signals, and that they are strictly necessary for detecting and blocking bots. Turnstile does not display a puzzle or ask you to identify images, and the signals are not used for advertising. For details, see the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Policy Addendum and the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
11. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for business owners and marketing professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Contact
For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights described above, contact us at kevin@kevinhood.me.
