Why email still wins

Every couple of years, somebody declares email dead.

Social media killed it. Then text messaging. Push notifications. Spam filters. Facebook groups. Short form video. Skool communities. Etc…

Yet here we are…

I’m writing this email and you’re reading it.

And people continue to make a living online doing the same boring thing every single morning.

Write an email, and send it.

But none of them are doing this:

I’m opening my calendar for some meet and greet sessions. Anybody reading this can book a call where we can get to know each other better. They’ll be 15 minutes long and it’s not a place to pitch or be pitched, just to talk about what we’re up to.

Because as much as all of the technologies listed above have the power to connect us…

They also have the power to drive us apart.

And the more we spend time speaking to chatbots thinking we know the answers to everything, the less we have time to connect with the interesting people behind it all.

I’ve never really done this before.

Not sure what to expect.

But here it is… if you reply to this email before 11:59 pm EDT on Monday, August 17th with approximately the words “Let’s Connect!” I’ll send you a calendar link to book a call. I probably won’t reply until early next week, but I will definitely reply.

Talk soon,

Kevin Hood
